Renie Marquet - Main brazilian reference in KiCad. Conversion and visualization tools, tutorials, library and others. Very good!
gEDA - Complete group of EDA programs (schematic, pcb, etc). Opensource, mature, free and very professional. A little harder for begginers.
Fritzing - Made for beginners or amateurs which don't need advanced resources. It's possible make a circuit in a virtual protoboard, make the schematic and the PCB. Is opensource and free. Very easy!
Lasagne - PCB's project only. Opensource and free. Immature development yet.
Eagle - Closed Source. Freeware to little circuits and PCBs (8x10cm).

The installation is done in the usual way. Double-click the downloaded .dmg file and the screen will appear with instructions. Drag and drop KiCad folder to your Applications folder and finish, Kicad is installed.
